OCZ Vertex 4 makes an appearance

The Vertex 3 marked a before and after in the world of SSD . He went from about 300 MB / s to exceed 500, while maintaining reasonable prices for the competition. The credit was not only OCZ , but also the new generation of controllers SandForce.

Already begun to scan the horizon the new OCZ Vertex 4 , shown these days in the CeBit and they begin to show off some features. In this range OCZ SandForce leaves and takes a Indilinx controller Everest 2 , which promises to maintain the same performance as the third generation of the Vertex: over 500 MB / s and surpassing the IOPS of Vertex 3 Max IOPS : 90,000 versus 85,000.

However, actual evidence on the CeBIT own these Vertex 4 reached about 350 MB / s, which is not bad but is far from what was promised. Maybe in the final versions of theOCZ Vertex 4 we will see some improvement in performance, caused by changes in the firmware of the devices.

So far no data about pricing or availability , at least officially. What has confirmed the company is that this is a SSD SATA 6 Gbps and will have capacities of up to 2 TB in a classic design of 2.5 inches.
