Seem like this month is tablet month with all the new tablets being announced. Today Google has announced their own tablet called Nexus 7.

They also released this video to promote it. It doesn’t tell you much and is a little but over promotional but check it out

Nexus 7 Specs

The first thing to note is that it is a 7 inch tablet that runs at 1280×800 HD display (216 ppi). The screen also has Back-lit IPS display and what they call Scratch resistant Corning glass. Unlike most other tablets it doesn’t have a back camera only a 1.2MP front camera.

The battery last up to 8 hours while using it and it weighs about 340 grams with a size of 198.5 x 120 x 10.45mm. It obviously runs android but it is the new 4.1 or Jelly Bean version. It also has Wifi and Bluetooth. Other features the Nexus 7 has is a built in GPS, a microphone, NFC (for google wallet) also known as the Android beam, Accelerometer, Magnetometer and of course a Gyroscope.

The device has 8 or 16 GB internal storage and 1 gig of ram. It has the Quad-core Tegra 3 processor and features Micro USB ports.

With the powerful processor and 1 gig ram it will also run all the Google play games very smoothly. So if you are looking for a mobile gaming device and you do not own another tablet already this might be the way to go.

The last thing that is very interesting is that it only costs $200 so for those that could not afford the more expensive devices this might be a way to get a tablet without spending a fortune.
So what do you think ? Is there space in the market for a Quad core 7 inch tablet or might one just as well take the leap and get the iPad or Galaxy Tab ?
