App of the Week: Google Chrome for iOS

Google finally released the very popular Google Chrome browser for iOS users. The app is as expected free and very quickly jumped to the most popular app in the app store.

Click here to download Google Chrome for iOS

When you launch it for the first time you it asks you for your google username and password, once you enter this you sync your open bookmarks, passwords, and tabs from your PC. Like the PC version you have an unlimited number of tabs you can open and the browser also has the Incognito mode that lets you browse without saving your history.

Unfortunately Apple wont let you make Chrome your default browser as of writing this. But once again the jailbreak community comes to the rescue. (If you want to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad Click here)

Step 1: Go to Cydia and go to Manage –> Source –> Edit –> Add
Step 2: Insert rpetri.ch/repo
Step 3: Find and install BrowserChooser (Should be near the top)
Step 4: Go to settings –> BrowserChooser and select Chrome
All done

The BrowserChooser will let you choose any browser as a default browser not just chrome. Special thanks to Ryan Petrich for this.
